Office 2019 release date confirmed, as Microsoft teases these new features
MICROSOFT is launching an update to its hugely-successful Microsoft Office app suite next year, the company has confirmed.
Microsoft Office 2019 will debut next year, it has been confirmed.
The announcement was made during Microsoft’s Ignite in Orlando conference this week.
Office 2019 is schedule to arrive in the second half of 2018 and will include updated versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
There will also be server versions of Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business bundled in the suite of apps.
Previews of these new products will become available mid-year 2018.
General Manager for Microsoft Office, Jared Spataro said: “Office 2019 will add new user and IT capabilities for customers who aren’t yet ready for the cloud.
“For example, new and improved inking features – like pressure sensitivity, tilt effects, and ink replay – will allow you to work more naturally.
“New formulas and charts will make data analysis for Excel more powerful. Visual animation features – like Morph and Zoom – will add polish to PowerPoint presentations.
“Server enhancements will include updates to IT manageability, usability, voice, and security.”
More details about the next-generation Office apps will be unveiled in the coming months, Microsoft confirmed.
However, based on these initial details, it seems like those running Office 365 still have the most up-to-date features.
